F. CRAIG WILKERSON JR: Picking a lawyer is a very important decision and hopefully for most people it's a decision they're only going to make once or twice in their lives.

F. CRAIG WILKERSON JR: A case isn't something that's going to be over in two weeks. It may take years. And it's important to have a lawyer that you can work with and trust.
Oftentimes, clients or perspectives will attorney shop and they'll go to an attorney to try to have that attorney give them the value of the case.

F. CRAIG WILKERSON JR: If you tell them that their case is worth more than it is at the onset of your representation, the lawyer will make promises to the client that he can't keep.

F. CRAIG WILKERSON JR: Individual clients in picking a lawyer don't really know who goes to court, but you can bet the insurance companies know which lawyers go to court and which ones don't. And that affects the settlements and it affects their willingness to negotiate.

F. CRAIG WILKERSON JR: I try my own cases and the insurance companies know that. I'm a sole practitioner, which means that I'm the only attorney that'll handle my client's file.

F. CRAIG WILKERSON JR: I send my clients a copy of every letter that goes out on their file. I try to return all phone calls within 24 hours and I try to have regular periodic fact to face meetings with the clients so that they understand exactly what's going on in their case.
